Media Player Classic Home Cinema
Do not be fooled by its outdated appearance, this player is very powerful. Media Player Classic Home Cinema is able to decode all alone a large number of video and audio formats. Nevetherless we won't use decoding capacities and will use instead ffdshow, in complement, which, if your PC is powerful enough, will allow to improve video quality thanks to different filters. If your PC is not powerful enough Media Player Classic Home Cinema can take advantage of hardware acceleration of graphics card for DXVA decoding, on the other hand you can not use ffdshow filters. If you have a nvidia graphics card and if your processor is not powerful enough I suggest you to use LAV Video hardware acceleration CUVID (CUDA) of LAV Filters, which allows the use ffdshow filters.
Installation
We are going to create 2 directories to have 2 MPC-HC installations, one, for example, for headphones and stereo speakers (MPC-HC 2.0) and the other for 5.1 amplifier (MPC-HC 5.1). If you do not really need one of course you can install only one.
Create a MPC-HC 2.0 directory and another one MPC-HC 5.1 where yon want on you hard drive. In these directories put the files in the archive of Media Player Classic Home Cinema that you have downloaded. For "MPC-HC 2.0" you have to rename the executable mpc-hc.exe to mpc-hc 2.0.exe.
We will create a shortcut on the desktop by right clicking on the executable of MPCHC (mpchc.exe and mpchc 2.0.exe) and clicking on "Create Shortcut." Then just cut / paste the shortcut on the desktop. To run MPCHC as administrator right click on the shortcut and then "Properties", "Advanced" and select "Open as administrator".
Now let's move on Media Player Classic Home Cinema configuration. We will only set MPC-HC 5.1, we will simply copy the settings file mpc-hc.ini which is going to be created and paste it into MPC-HC 2.0.
Precision, click "Apply" each time you configure a part.
